I have a Dell Latitude D810 and after a reinstall of XP, I am also reinstalling the drivers.

Some of the drivers I obtained from the Dell website here:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...tid=&impid=

For others, I was able to install through Windows Update.

I am having trouble with two devices. When I open the Device Manager, there are two devices that have a yellow question mark:

- Network Controller
- PCI Simple Communications Controller

I have tried installing them through Windows Update, which doesn't work, and I can't seem to find them on Dell's Driver Download page.

I am confused about the "network controller" because I always thought that was another name for "Network Adapter". The Network Adapter driver is
installed correctly and is labeled as a "Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller."

Are the drivers for these devices present on the Dell website I listed above? If so, which one? Also, what is the difference between a "Network Adapter" aka NIC and a Network Controller?

The network controller will be for your wireless card.
The PCI device is your modem.
You can install both these from Dell's website.

Make sure you also install the chipset drivers. Most people forget these.
