Hi; I have windows xp and I use mozilla firefox. i dont know much more about my system b/c i cant access anything. anything i click gives the following message: Application cannot be executed. The file whatever.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?

I originally downloaded risk from yahoo games. not sure if that is where this all started. I started getting pop-ups that were being ignored by blocker. Then web pg loading slowed to a crawl. Then when i would type an address in and hit enter it would redirect to some other page. Then I couldnt really load yahoo mail at all. then all web pages slowed down.

Then all these warnings started popping up from windows xp: tracking software found; security holes detected; sytem hijacted; stealth intrusion; system danger; XP Internet has blocked a program from accessing the internet: IE is infected with Trojan-BNK.Win32.Keylogger.gen. At some point random internet windows have started popping up with porno.com, adult.com and viagra.com randomly. All these warnings ask if I want to do something ie run antivirus, block attack, activate and remove all infections, upgrade to full version of xp internet security. I dont know whether to trust and do any of those things through the offered warnings. or go through some other procedure for clean up.

This little green shield with a check mark popped up on bar on the bottom right next to another shield that appeared looks like a windows symbol red-green-yellow-blue.
I dont use IE and ive never heard of xp internet security? I have AVG anti-virus and it didnt catch anything. I had Macfee but it expired a while back. At one point last night it popped up to say it blocked a virus. I tried to start up malwarebytes from a while back when I had a problem by it wouldnt work. I tried to download it and that went ok but when I right clicked it to run it I got the .exe message again.

I was worried about all the warnings yet suspicions of them.
At that point I unplugged from the internet and I am using my mini computer. What can I do?

thanks for the help
