Hi, I'm using the 'Audacity' program to transfer music from old cassette tapes to my PC (via a Microphone-to-Headphone lead from PC to Hi-fi).
It works well enough but I'm hindered by the fact that I'm getting no sound during the transfer process which makes it impossible to monitor what track is playing.
Is there a button somewhere that would let me hear it?

To monitor your recording, open your computer's volume control panel. Turn up the playback volume and turn off the “mute” checkbox for your recording source (usually “microphone” or “line in”).

If this does not work, open the Audacity preferences. In the “Audio I/O” section, turn on the “Software Playthrough” option.
