stop c000021a fatal error

I updated my microsoft xp and when i restarted the pc i get a screen that says stop c000021a fatal system error. the screen flashes blue and only for a second with that error.I tried restarting pc , F8 and last known good config. but that does not work and i can not boot into safe mode... i tried a boot disk but i get to the screen A:\> WHERE DO I GO FROM THERE? PLEASE SOME ONE HELP!!

You could try booting from the Windows disc. If that doesn't works you could get a standalone operating system (I use Knoppix) or some other recovery utility to back up everything on the drive and then re-install windows.
