Hello All,

I have been fortunate to receive excellent help from forum members for several years now. Unfortunately, I had to reinstall windows and lost my password for this site. For the life of me, I can't remember it. So, I registered again.

I run WindowsXP on a 4 year old Toshiba Satellite laptop. Nice little laptop. Can't complain. Pretty soon, however, I'll be upgrading. With technology, we're forever upgrading, aren't we? I figure this baby should last another year.

Last summer I moved from the city and bought a house in the country. Sick of condo living, the noise of the traffic, the pollution, the reports of crime. I'm a head-hunter and work mostly on the telephone and online so location isn't too much of an issue. I live by a little village called Hastings, population 1000.

Hastings Ontario is situated on the Trent River by Rice Lake. In the summer it is quite busy with boats of every size from large yachts to canoes. The big attraction around here is fishing. Also, in the summer, there seems to be a festival every week. July 1, Canada Day, we have a big parade, music, political speeches (of course) and the biggest fireworks display second only to Ottawa. Yeah, I was surprised too.

The village has very good facilities such as a big supermarket, bank, post office, liquor and beer stores, and 4 restaurants. This being my first winter, I was impressed with the efficient snow removal on the roads and sidewalks.

I could go on but I'd only manage to bore you. So, that's it for me. All the best
