ideas on random numbers

I've always thought that screen savers would display pictures randomly. And understood that could mean that the same picture could appear twice in a row. But I've watched them long enough to suspect microsoft's shuffle is not random.

Could someone point me toward a picture displayer that randomizes.
Or, ideally a picture displayer that I could adjust the parts of random (i.e., size of picture, don't use recent, don't show more than twice before the 80% is achieved) to occassionally alter the flow.
