No but I have of course never seen that before, but I was thinking along the lines of.

persons interested in ideas for new software products, hardware products, making deals on

used parts, selling their PC's, . . that sort, . . just an idea, but not having that is like, having

one shoe on and one shoe off, I just thought it was what is missing.

Your trashing the idea, from the get go, . . ? ?

I'm not sure what you mean by flog, but it seems like you might think that it is going to be a cluttering thing, but a forum that segregates topics is always neat and clean no matter how messy it gets, I mean you don't have to go there if you don't want to.

But besides picking up interesting leads for stuff that someone might want to sell, and or they could tell you exactly where that might be located on a site like e-bay, . .

it might be a good spot for technology developers to meet and get partners for projects.

Ok, I see your point concerning that kind of stuff, I don't know, . .

Even the best intentions can get all tangled up in deal making, . .

I know a time I went to E-bay to locate a bike engine muffler,

and when I finally got all hooked up with the individuals sales site, I think it was,
I was curious about the shipping cost so I clicked through toward the purchasing program but definitely did not put my charge card number in, otherwise I would have evidently made a purchase,
besides most good retailers who use charge cards, have a check your order etc, even after you use a card number, . .

I wanted to know what the shipping cost would be and did so, . .

The guy that was selling the part, filed a complaint against me stating that I reneged on the purchase, ebay contacted me for a dispute settlement determination whatshamacallit,

Gadzooks ! Wow ! saying that if I did not participate I would loose my rights to enter the site,

Holy Cow what a fiasco !

Of course you do have to have some care in buying and selling, . .

Yeah I can understand at this point that you may feel that this kind of thing could lead to

unwarranted reflections, but there is another forum site that allows this, of course most of what goes on their is Patent Law Books, Patents and like new product deals, wanted to buy and want to sell ads, . . I'll get there and see if there is any comments regarding policing.

If I read between the lines properly, all three comments above end up putting BleepingComputer as a 'middle man' in some way.

Having a forum for members to list items for sale has been discussed and deemed logistically unfeasible as well as a legal nightmare we are unwilling to take at this point. There are other projects we have a higher priority for. Does not mean it won't happen down the road, just not in the near future.

Being a referral site on 'where to find stuff' for commercial enterprise? Again the middleman and we send members elsewhere. Why would we want to send people elsewhere?

Becoming a meeting point for potential development partners puts us as a middle man again. With a potential for necessitating mediating potential disputes. Again a logistical nightmare. Not to mention there are many sites that already focus on this area with more in depth resources than we can provide.

The idea as presented is not a bad idea. It just isn't an area we feel we have the resources to develop properly at this point.

The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.
