First of all I would like to thank anyone profusely who can help or direct me to help with my issue. Last night malware became active on my desktop. Like an idiot I tried to remove it after reading fixes online and before finding this website. What seemed to make the issue worse was when I went into safe mode and renamed the file (av.exe) after I found it and then deleted it. Most of the pop-ups I had been seeing quit. Now, however, I have 'file not found' pop-ups for IE and Firefox. I gave up at 4:00 a.m and found this website this morning. I read through the prep for help with malware but since I cannot access my browsers I cannot proceed with that. I can still pull up task manager and this is what exists in Processes currently. As of last night I could still access safe mode. I am not conversant enough to go into command prompts without someone to hold my hand. Doubtless I should not have messed with this at all but I was desperate as I work through my PC and have had to notify my clients that I am out of pocket until a solution is found (or a new PC purchased if this one is unrescueable) I am accessing this forum through an ancient laptop that is still functional.

csrss.exe
dwm.exe
explorer.exe
mobsync.exe
rundll32.exe
taskeng.exe
taskmgr.exe
winlogon.exe

I am hoping someone can help me or tell me if I've moved beyond help. Thank you for your consideration of my problem.
