Program I've ran:
--------------------
spybot search and destroy
hitman pro
AVG
symantec corporate edition
ashampoo
CCcleaner
Ad-Aware
The last one I ran which was suggested by a posting I read on a forum, was to run combofix
The combofix did not resolve the issue either to my disappointment , I'm still getting redirects when searching via using explorer or mozilla. It redirects to unwanted advertisements and so forth. Also,
gmail still doest work. When i go to www.gmail.com i get a 'problem with this website's security certificate" and an option to continue to this website and when I do that, i get
not found, the requested URL/accounts/ServiceLogin was not found on this server.
On another machine connected to my home network I'm able to browse via these methods just fine w/out redirects or anything and can get to gmail just fine. On the troubled machine, I modified something on the host file by going to RUN: C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts then opened with notepad and deleted 2 lines containing IP addresses that is not "127.0.0.1 localhost." Right now the only entry I see when I open through notepad is "127.0.0.1 localhost". This was only done per some suggestions people made on some postings I read, but that didnt seem to help out either.
At this point Im out of ideas. If someone can look at this and provide me suggestions in resolving issue, I would appreciate it greatly ! Thanks again.
