I've been running MWB and finding/deleting this cursed backdoor.bot on a daily basis. It gets rid of it but every re-boot (and I think sometimes even without a reboot), it keeps coming back. I've read some threads about backdoor.bot and realize it can be a real pain to get rid of, if at all, but I'd like to try. I run Windows XP/SP3 and wasn't really planning on upgrading to Windows 7, but maybe that might be my best alternative if I can't clean it from my system. I'm hoping someone will help me give it a try.

I've read through the initial posting guide and here's the DDS.txt file:

Hi,

The reason why it returns all the time is because your Teatimer and/or Adwatch is replacing it again. Teatimer and Adwatch monitor startup references for changes and since Malwarebytes detects a malicious entry in your startup keys, wants to remove it, Teatimer and/or Adwatch see this as a malware attempt and restore whatever Malwarebytes deleted again.

That's why, I suggest to temporary disable Teatimer because it can interfere with the changes you'll make on your system.
When everything is done and your log is clean again, you can enable it again.
If teatimer gives you a warning afterwards that some changes were made, allow this instead of blocking it.
How to disable TeaTimer <== click me for instructions.

After you disabled Teatimer, download ResetTeaTimer.exe to your desktop.
Then run ResetTeaTimer.exe.
This will only take a few seconds.

Also do the same for Ad-watch. read instructions here how to disable it:
http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=19804

Then rescan with malwarebytes again, let it remove what it found and verify again.

Hi miekiemoes,

Thanks SO MUCH for your help. I do believe it has solved my problem as I have re-booted twice and re-scanned - both times completely clean. :-) I am once again a very happy camper!
