Hello, any help would be MUCH appreciated.

I am using Windows XP Home Edition.

I had an infection that was causing an error message box to pop up every time I opened ANY program, the message would read:

"[Program name here] - Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\Windows\system32\rasisase.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
"

Then, while searching around the net on how to fix this, a rogue anti-virus program installed itself onto my computer called Internet Security 2010.

I already had Malwaremalbytes' anti-malware on my computer, but it would not run after I started getting those Bad Image error messages. I tried re-installing, and it would give me an error message saying "Cannot Create Process, 2."
Finally, I used SUPERanti-spyware which got rid of the Bad Image error messages, and then was able to re-install mbam and it found and removed the Internet Security, but I am still having problems.

Now, when I try to use firefox and go to the default home page it says:
"Sorry. Service is temporary unavailable!

The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay.
"

If I use a google search and click on any link, it redirects me to an alternate search page every time.
I also cannot get to gmail, I get redirected to a page that says
"This Connection is Untrusted.
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.google.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
"

After running both SUPERantispyware and mbam, I scanned using AVG and then did a registry scan with Registry Booster and then tried uninstalling and re-installing firefox, but I am still getting the same problems. Computer seems to be running more slowly as well. I am guessing there are still infected remnants or components that have not been removed? What should I do? I did a search on this site and found others with the same Bad Image error messages that were instructed to use ComboFix, but warnings not to use it unless specifically instructed to do so. I also tried several times to do a Kaspersky scan, but everytime it is at 100% finished scanning, it causes my browser to crash, IE8 or Firefox 3.6. Please help?

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

We also need a new log from the GMER anti-rootkit scanner. Please first disable any CD emulation programs using the steps found in this topic:

Why we request you disable CD Emulation when receiving Malware Removal Advice

Then create another GMER log and post it as an attachment to the reply where you post your new DDS log. Instructions on how to properly create a GMER log can be found here:

" Extinguishing Malware from the world"

The Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal forum is very busy. If I'm helping you and I've not posted back within 24 hrs., send a PM with your topic link. Thank you.

ALL OTHER HELP REQUESTS VIA THE PM SYSTEM WILL BE IGNORED. The Forums are there for a reason!
Thanks-
