When I log out of windows xp and come back to log on again it says I have 1 progam running.

If I pop up task manager I can see no applications running.

Every so often ex.exe wants permission to connect to the internet.

And every so often "afris.biz" appears in my internet page history.

Here is my HijackThis log, the obviously suspicious one is in bold:

Hello Below Par and welcome to the BC HijackThis fourm. The log looks pretty good. Just a couple of items to clean up.

Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:O4 - Global Startup: ass.cmd
O16 - DPF: {DE4735F3-7532-4895-93DC-911111111173} - http://afris.biz/ex.exe

Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Ok, reboot the machine and you should be good to go.

Cheers.
