Hi there, I have got norton antivirus on my pc and mcafee firewall. The instant updater for mcafee does not want to update and neither does the virus definitions for norton... what can I do to resolve this?

Run a couple of online scans to make sure it's not a virus/trojan problem.

TrojanScan

Do you use any spyware/malware apps?
Ad-Aware
Spybot S&D
a˛ free
ewido security suite

These programs, updated and used regularly, will do a lot to keep your computer clean of spyware, trojans, keyloggers, browser hijackers, etc...

Download them, update them, and then run them.

Are you using both Norton and McAfee? Disable one or the other and see what happens.

Check clock, if the time is off by a certain factor, Norton will not update, don't know if this is true of McAfee, but probably is.

Thanks for posting back and letting us know that worked hanky. I guess they have been rivals for so long that they interfere with each other.
