I have a laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium, SP at least 2, with Norton 360 v3, spybot s&d, adaware system mechanic & malwarebytes. About 1 week ago my comp became apparently infected: Norton gives an error code:0x00000001 which says it cannot load because my virus protection updates are not valid. I cannot use live update-it freezes. Windows Security Center says the Malware protection is off and I cannot turn it on. I cannot load Hijack this, no longer can open in safe mode (it freezes 1/2 way through), cannot uninstall Norton or install Kaspersky (got a disc with my daughters comp recently). It continually freezes with anything I do & must be turned off at the switch, then restarted. I did run Malware a couple days ago when I could access safe mode & it removed 2 items but I have no idea what they were. I do not even know where to begin to look. Thank you in advance for any ideas you may have.

Respectfully,

Joe

I am seriously considering fdisking my laptop. I have been trying everything I can think of & it just gets worse. I have a sermon to get ready for next sunday & could really use the software.
