Hello folks.

I spent 25 years in Information technology. I find myself doing SA work again as my daughters (and wife) keep me busy chasing issues caused by them clicking on things or opening the wrong attachments.

Actually I have been pretty lucky so far I think and have had mostly annoyances and nothing catastrophic.

I think I can owe some of my success (confirmed in at least one case) to the fact that none of us run with admin privs. I found the SDRA64/lowsec files in my wife's directory. They had not infected the registry and system directory and therefore were not active. If my wife had been running with priv, I am sure it would be a different story.

Some of my friends have been told by so called "experts" to have a separate non-priv login and use that when they are going to questionable sites. What poor advice. I always tell them to do the opposite. ALWAYS run in a non-priv account and only go into the priv one when you have to install software that you know is reputable.

OK. I'll hop off my soapbox :-)
