hello guys

am planning to make a petty cheapo computer that can still run most games

am going to use my old case (uatx), my old dvd drives and my old ide drives

and heres the board am going to use http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=exJL...ontent=overview OR http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Mother...e=GA-MA74GMT-S2 ( i think the asus is better )

CPU : not sure yet

Ram: any cheap ddr3 kingston ram http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/produc...oducts_id=29699

i can only buy local
and i don't feel like putting to much money into a machine

also i wont be playing high end games

but i would like to play all available games on low or medium so am guessing that on board graphics card wont do

any comments ?

OR http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Mother...e=GA-MA78LMT-S2

seems cheap : AM3 Sempron LE 140 OR AM3 x2 Athlon 240 / 245 / 250 which are petty cheap

the asus website says( ) Athlon IIX2 240(ADX240OCK23GQ),2.8GHz,1MB,rev.C2,65W,SocketAM3
1 mb ? the athlons are 2 mb , is it meant to be 1mb + 1mb ?

well i have no idea what that means but am gussing you mean whats my budget ?

well quite low
am just trying to get a super cheap computer ( why am keeping ide hard drives)
trying to keep it under $250 yer i know its low but meh

edit : X2 - Support for unregistered DIMMs up to PC2-8500 (DDR2-1066MHz) -AND- PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066MHz)
so if i added 1333 ram it would be cut down to 1066 ram ?

found a better board : http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/produc...oducts_id=40943
20 bucks but extra ram slots and the onboard graphics seems to be petty good
