Whenever I do a search in Google using Firefox, the first click on a search result is redirected to a random page. An immediate click back to the Google search results and another attempt to reach the selected search result may or may not work correctly. The OS is Windows XP which at present has never run this slow.

I've run repeated scans with Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition and Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware but remain unable to correct this problem.

Thanks in advance for any help some kind soul might provide,
