fixed my task manager and dead desk top

I posted this in the other forum but thought that a few might be helped by this.

please, before you do this ask your expert on this forum to make sure I have not f*7ked something up for you> below is my past post.

sorry that I did not get back to you sooner, I did not notice that there was a page 2 at the bottom with your reply.

I did fix two things that made my day.

1. my desktop problem went away: I changed the hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\activedesktop I change the binary code to all 0s (zeros) my desktop returned to normal service

2. my desktop problem went away: I changed the hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\system I change the binary code to all 0s (zeros) for "disableTaskMgr type RED_DWORD" the data had a "1" changed it to "0" and my task manager now work perfectly.
