I was prompted today by zonealarm that instw.exe was trying to do start. I didn't recognize it so i denied it, then i did some looking and found very little reliable info about the process.

So the question is, is this malware? I've run spybot/malewarebytes/adaware and am doing a zonealarm scan, but so far nothing has asked to me to remove anything.

Hi as you keep posting to yourself it appears as you have 3 replies to your topic and are already being helped. It's when i or another Mod starts to view topics for Moderating that I find you... gabeesh?

So .. i can only find that this is some type of Modem file. Hence runs some function in the Modem

[SetModemFiles]
instw.exe
instw.dat

Your modem is still functioning. I don't believe it is malware or dangerous.
