Hello, I run Windows XP and was recently hit by a number of trojans, one being Anti-Virus 2010. After using Malwarebytes and Avira to clear them out, I found I was unable to use my computer in Normal Mode. The only thing that would appear was my background. I could not bring up Task Manager in anyway -- it would appear as if it were working (with the cursor and hourglass) but ultimately did nothing. Sometimes the computer would load the taskbar, but I could still not bring up Task Manager. Rarely it would load my desktop items, but all their titles had a blue sort of background, and when clicked on, took an extremely long time to bring up.

I looked up a solution that said explorer.exe wasn't being pointed to correctly due to the registry files being messed with. I tried to run regedit.exe in Safe Mode but a pop-up appeared telling me the administrator had disabled editing of the registry. I looked up several solutions, some coming from this site, but nothing worked. My computer only runs somewhat properly in Safe Mode -- my desktop appears, Task Manager works, and I can launch applications. However, I cannot use Malwarebytes without it telling me it cannot remove certain infections due to registry editing being disabled.

What am I to do?

Mod Edit: Moved from XP; seems still infected - AA
