Hello,

I've had this problem before, but don't remember how to fix it....

When I try to change any Google preferences I get the following message:

This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

This is what comes up under details....

IEXPLORE executed an invalid instruction in
module <unknown> at 0000:838ea035.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.
I'd be more apathetic if I wasn't so lethargic.

Hello,

I have encountered a very similar problem to the one in my previous post when trying to check for updates with another program:

PRIVACYCRUSADERFULL executed an invalid instruction in module <unknown> at 0000:8378c035.
Registers:
EAX=0071dbcc CS=018f EIP=8378c035 EFLGS=00010246
EBX=00000a98 SS=0197 ESP=0071dbb8 EBP=0071dbf4
ECX=0071dc74 DS=0197 ESI=bfc045c6 FS=3c2f
EDX=00000a98 ES=0197 EDI=00000000 GS=0000
Bytes at CS:EIP:
ff ff 90 90 90 90 00 00 00 89 45 e8 89 7d f8 89
Stack dump:
6606f73f 0071dbcc 00000a98 00000a98 00000000 00000028 00000a98 00000000 01178cc4 0071dc74 00000000 00000000 0071dc1c 00000000 00000000 0071dc1c

The invalid instruction is in the same module <unknown> and the Bytes at CS:EIP, but the Registers and Stack Dump are different.

Thanks!
