I have a small shop in my barn and do some work on machines for former customers of my business. It has evolved into a hobby. The challange is to make their machines run and behave. Unfortunately the sick frakkin virus writers are really making me angry. I spend more time cleaning Hdd's then upgrading and diagnosing machines and their problems.

I like making real old 80286 type machines keep running. I figure that after some terrorist nukes or EMP's us my 80286 machine have a better chance of survival over my good state of the art machines. Those big heavy cases are good for that and for boat anchors. Of course I could simply make a grounded copper box big enough for my laptop and desktop units but copper is not cheap. Thus the Epson 286 machines.

I have boxes of parts, old cards, 'miles' of cables and if you need something ask. Those 'bleeping computers' have buried me under parts. Some of the parts I have are old enough to make recycling them for precious metals a possibility.

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer.

Please take the time, to browse the New User Orientation forum, to help familiarize yourself with how the board works.

Also, don't forget to check out the Tutorials.
There's a lot of very useful information, in there.
