New to bleepingcomputer. Couldn't think of a more appropriate name for a website!!! Have a 6 mth old netbook. All I have today is a black screen that says "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key". I know there's a zillion viruses going around. Is THIS a virus or do I have a dead netbook. I also hear a "scratchy" sound when its on. Not like that terrible "clicking" when your hard drive crashes, but definitely some sort of light scratchy sound. Can you help before I start using other words than "bleeping"?????????? Thanks.
