I am here because I am technically proficient enough to be dangerous and I have met my match with some trojans. I perused the board tried some fixes and am not ready for a structured approach - i.e. can't seem to lick the problem.

As for the introduction - I am a 41 year old male who has 9 years of experience int Army as a Signal officer, and as much time again experience raising kids and working in the steel industry. Therefore, I have plenty of war stories. I am a hardcore UT player (oldschool) and am geek enough to tinker around all over on the net. I currently physically in North Carolina.

I look forward to digging into this board and contributing where I can. Cya around.

Hello. Why not send in a log to the appropriate forum? Can't hurt unless you really like those trojans.

Hi, Wraith1964.
Welcome to Bleeping Computer.

You should do as gunner suggested, and post a HijackThis log to be examined.
A member of the HijackThis Team will show you, step by step, how to disinfect your computer.

Read How to post a HijackThis Log.
Please read, and follow, all directions carefully.

Then, run a log, and post it in the HJT forum, at this link. Do not, fix anything, yet.
A member, of the HJT Team, will help you out.
It may take a while to get a response, because the HJT Team are very busy. Please, be patient, these people are volunteers. They will help you out, as soon as possible.

Once you have made the post, please, DO NOT make another post in the HJT forum, until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. The first thing they look for, when looking for logs to reply to, is 0 replies. If you make another post, there will be 1 reply. The team member, glancing over the replies, might assume someone is already helping you out, and will not respond. So, just make your post, and let it sit there, until a team member responds. This way you will be taken care of, in the most timely manner.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the tips. It was my plan to do just that (posting in the HJT forum) but I did want to say hi and take my best shot at correcting the problem myself first... having done that I am off to the HJT forum to post.

Boy, I've dealt with sticky malware/viruses before on my own but these Trojans are something else. Thanks again guys. I'll be seeing ya in HJT.

BTW, anyone else here play UT?... just curious.

Malware is so much easier to get on your hard drive than to get rid of, isn't it?
