Hey, I appear to be having problems when trying to burn a Data DVD. I haven't done a ton of burning with this computer yet, but when I have in the past, it has worked. Now, it won't get past the "writing lead in" phase. I have used several different programs, and made sure that my drivers are up to date. Also, I have used DVD-R's and DVD+R's. I am now at a loss for what to do next. this is the error report created from Nero

I have seen this error in two of my DVD writers in past. I have used many software like you but nothing worked. I had no warranty left on them. So I took them to hardware repair shop, the repair guy opened them up, applied lubricant on the tiny metal rods on which the lens assembly slides and they started burning again successfully!

So my advice is that if you have warranty left on your DVD writer or PC, contact your PC manufacturer, maybe you can have it replaced for free. If not, contact a repair shop.

lol and how much did it pay to get it repaired ?

probably better just buy a new one

but if you got warranty then do that first

It cost me 50 bucks. I also bought the lubricant for later use
