my dell dimension 3000 is older, but it works fine. i recently had a wireless router installed at my place for my laptops, but now i couldnt get online with the desktop so they gave me a linksys wireless g usb network adapter. i put the disk in and follow the instructions and everything is going fine until i am instructed to hook up the adapter because once i do that the computer restarts and boots up and restarts and boots up and it wont stop until i take the adapter out and restart the computer. i can try last know configuration, start windows normally or safe mode, but it will just restart all over again. i guess with this thing all you really have to do is plug it in load the software and there you go........but not for me,

any ideas on how i could fix this would be greatly appreciated..

thank you for your time.

o and there is now a wireless network adapter icon on my desktop, but you can click and wait on that thing all day and nothing will happen. i was able to complete 1.5 of the three step process.
