My brother got one of these "your computer is infected" viruses scams on his computer. He didn't click on it but it did its thing anyway before he got the computer shut down. We thought we had it removed, but a day or so later his FoxFire and IE stoped working. Then today he gets a cold call from a company "www.onlinepcworld" telling him they noticed he was having problems and offered to help. They remotely worked on it for two hours and my brother paid $100 on paypal. Seemed to initailly work but its back to the same thing again.

Is the cold call an new scam???? Anyone heard of this company??? How would they know he had a problem and get his phone #??
