Greetings! Need some help if possible...NEED TO GET RID OF INTELL32!!!!!!!

I actually need to remove tons of stuff but the "intell32" is a MAJOR priority. I have here my hijackthis log...but 99% of what it is and what to do is greek to me.

Do I have to perform the removals is "Safe Mode"...? I can't seem to get a straight answer on this. I've read the various tutorials but I honestly require a simplified version, if that's even possible. If I can start out by learning to get rid of the "intell32", I suppose I can get rid of the others...in any event...

We're talking "baby steps" here...I'd REALLY apprecaite it! My OS is Win98+ (sad but true)

Here's my HiJackThis Log:

I also downloaded "Autoruns from Sysinternals" and have a log from that...is this a better tool? It seems very similar to hijackthis...yes?

Please someone help...I'd be really appreciative:)

Hello totenkopff and welcome to the BC HijackThis forum. After reviewing your log I do not see any signs of INTELL32. If present, it it usually part of a larger problem that would show up in multiple lines of the HijackThis log. I do see a few items that should be cleaned out so let's do that.

Step #1

Download CCleaner and install it but do not run it yet.

Step #2

Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,(Default) = about:blank
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,(Default) = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = about:blank
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = about:blank
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Step #3

Start CCleaner and click on the Run Cleaner button in the lower right-hand corner. When it is finished close CCleaner.

Step #4

If you do not already have Ad-Aware SE 1.06 then follow these download and setup instructions: Ad-Aware SE Setup. Otherwise, just check for updates.

Start Ad-aware SE, click the Start button and choose Perform Full System Scan. Click the Next button and wait for the scan to complete. If anything was found, right-click on the list and choose Select All and remove all it finds.

Step #5

OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Use the Add Reply button to post your new log file back here along with details of any problems you encountered performing the above steps and I will review it when it comes in.
