Hello.

I am having a problem with my wireless internet connection.

It was fine Monday.

My wireless network in the bottom right hand of my screen is showing an "X," but, as you can see, I am on the internet perfectly fine.

When I hover over the icon it says this:

"Connection status: unknown. Server execution failed."

I have Windows Vista Home Premium, Copyright 2007, Service Pack 1.

I already tried starting the computer in safe mode. Same result. That's really the only thing I've tried. I've received some advice from another forum, but, I'm worried it won't work.

I cannot right click the icon and I cannot get into my "Network and Sharing Center" in my control panel. I always have to open up task manager and End Task the window as it never responds.

Not only that... because of this... my download speed seems to be slower than it normally is. Which is why it would be nice if I could fix this problem ASAP.

Can someone help me out here? Please?

I would really appreciate any help with this in fixing this problem.

Thanks.

On this page Bob Lin suggests the following -

To fix this error, open the command prompt by clicking Start and
searching "cmd". Once cmd.exe shows up, click on it and type:

NET LOCALGROUP ADMINISTRATORS LOCALSERVICE /ADD
then press Enter.

It didn't work.

I even tried doing it in safe mode.

It still didn't work.

I apologize for the double post, but, I have seemingly fixed the problem.

I did a system restore and the icon is no longer an X.

I appreciate the help I got with this.

Thanks.
