I've got a new HP Elitebook 6930p
Windows 7 with the latest MS patches.

I was idle one day, and noticed that the system started to go into power save mode and it Blue Screened! I have retreived the Memory dump and ran teh debugger...here is the results! Any help would be great!

If this only happened once, and never came back, then it is nothing to worry about. If it is a repeated occurrence, then it is something to worry about.

But if it was just a one time fluke (can happen a lot), then just ignore it and move on with life. If you get a repeated BSOD, it is something to look into. But occasionally, Windows will just crap out for apparently no reason.

Somebody with memory dump analyzation skills could possibly narrow down your problem, and keep it from happening again. But like I said, unless it is a repeated occurrence, then it is nothing to worry about.

I have had that "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" bsod before, but it never happened again, so I didn't bother looking into it.

Thanks for your replies...BUT, this keeps happening...several times per day for the last few days.

In response to this issue, I have done the following:

1) Ran the HP Diagnostics at POST, passing all the tests for hardware.
2) Ran Check Disk command and come up clean
3) Ran the Windows 7 Repair from the Advanced Recovery Option - nothing found
4) Tried to restore from a System State Recovery option - BLOD!!!

I am now running an exhaustive Virus and Spyware/Malware scan...even though this system has been working fine for 2 weeks with weekly virus scans.

Quite the mystery!

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

My suspect would be RAM...

A. If you have more than one RAM module installed, try starting computer with one RAM stick at a time.

NOTE Keep in mind, the manual check listed above is always superior to the software check, listed below. DO NOT proceed with memtest, if you can go with option A

B. If you have only one RAM stick installed...
...run memtest...

1. Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)
2. Unzip downloaded memtest86+-2.11.iso.zip file.
3. Inside, you'll find memtest86+-2.11.iso file.
4. Download, and install ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/
5. Insert blank CD into your CD drive.
6. Open ImgBurn, and click on Write image file to disc
7. Click on Browse for a file... icon:

8. Locate memtest86+-2.11.iso file, and click Open button.
9. Click on ImgBurn green arrow to start burning bootable memtest86 CD:

10. Once the CD is created, boot from it, and memtest will automatically start to run.

The running program will look something like this depending on the size and number of ram modules installed:

It's recommended to run 5-6 passes. Each pass contains very same 8 tests.

This will show the progress of the test. It can take a while. Be patient, or leave it running overnight.

The following image is the test results area:

The most important item here is the “errors” line. If you see ANY errors, even one, most likely, you have bad RAM.

New work machine bought by you, or provided by your employer?

Well...
I ran the memtest with flying colors...no errors after several passes.

I ran a Spyware software and it detected a few items that were removed. After that, the system was stable until I ran Windows Updates this morning. I watched, and right when the restore points are about to be created, BAM, another BSOD.

I'm about to give up an reinstall...
