I recently had to reboot my Dell XPS 200 with Windows XP. I was going to put a Shortcut Icon on my desktop for Yahoo.com. When I did the search for Yahoo.com, I rightclicked the Yahoo.com link and clicked copy. I minimized the window and then right clicked on my desktop screen and pasted the link onto my desktop. I will admit not the brightest thing Ive ever done. I have placed shortcuts many times before, but for some reason did something this stupid. Not my greatest moment. Now there is a permanent yahoo page pasted onto my desktop ( I can minimize or shrink the page to just a small square, but rightclicking it does not allow me to delete it) and I cant get the thing off my desktop. I have tried everything I could possibly think off and even called Dell Hardware support and they couldn't get it off. Dell Hardware sent me to Dell Software support and they want to charge me $120 to try and remove it but they said they cant guarantee they could remove it either. I tried display on control panel. I tried the taskbar window. I tried desktop cleaner to see if it was on the list and it didnt show up as being on the desktop. It is not in task manager as a process. I did this on the same day I rebooted the harddrive so I cant restore to a previous date. Any Suggestions? Thanks K.

Right-click on the desktop and select Properties > Desktop tab > Customise Desktop > Web tab and see if you can delete it there.
