Greetings,
For a number of years I have visited Bleeping Computers, I am thinking I used to run into solutions and postings here when I first began using HiJackThis and spybot. Then my students and I began using combofix a few years ago and Bleeping Computers and it's excellent discussions have been a vital resource. We typically don't post anything but perhaps we should because often there are talented solutions to very difficult problems. I typically present my Software Repair class two infected computers a week and they are not always successful in solving those issues, nor am I for that matter. We backup, scan the backups, test the backups, and then try lots of tools. Most success these days come from a combination of external scans using live cd's and system file scans from the OS disk. Combofix has often been the only successful tool in this era of constant rootkit deployments and now we are seeing considerable armor against even command line tools.

Anyway, I am interested in getting my students more involved with the excellent support at Bleeping Computers.

UpSki is a sport, www.upski.com, which is practiced in England, Norway and Japan as well as here in central Colorado and has nothing to do with Computer software repair

.
