Hi Folks

This is my first topic, so if I have put it in the wrong place, apologies.

I am having problems trying to make a new folder when in Explorer.

I have opened my computer, double clicked my C drive (but also the same on other external hard drives), and have the option to click 'new folder' across the top - it doesn't work. I have also, within empty space, right clicked the mouse for the drop down menu but New isn't showing there either. My options with that are:
View
Sort by
Group by
Refresh
Paste }
Paste Short cut }Greyed out
Properties

I have checked my laptop, also using Windows 7, and drop down menu on that also shows:
Share with
New
Undo delete
Customize this folder.

Does anyone have any ideas what I may have done to lose the ability to make a new folder and what I need to do to get it back? Please keep it simple!!

Many thanks

Dawn

Hi Dawn:

Do you know if you're the administrator of that machine? Are there any other restrictions you've come across? Like installing programs? Post back and let us know.

I am the only user/administrator and have checked all the permissions which appear to be ok. I can install and uninstall programmes.

Dawn
