Win32/Alureon.F Redirecting still

One call has detected Win32/Alureon.F. After running a scan one call says it is gone but it continues to redirect when using internet explorer. Want to fix that problem and make sure that the virus is actually gone and how to avoid it. Windows xp professional operating system. Please help!!!
