http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe downloads at 192KB.

It errors saying "Some installation files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation" and fails to continue or exit.

Try it yourself.

Analysis of the file can be found here:

The copy here is different:
http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe which is 1.07MB.

This version does not work either.

I've tried downloading both from multiple locations on multiple computers but it was still corrupt.

What's going on here? How come it's not working?

I can add that yesterday I downloaded the product and it work as expected.

Today using the same executable, it tells me that it is "Out of Date" and must download an update. The status bar comes up and shows that it completely downloads, then it pops up a message that it cannot contact the update server and aborts.

I go to download another copy, and the file currently accessible is seriously smaller and when I try to run it, it states as explained above.

On a personal note, this is a great product when it works. I have attempted to use it 14 times in the last 2 weeks and have only been successful twice. It is very hard to convince my superiors to allow me to allocate funds for a donation when they see this behavior. Is there anything that can be done about the instability?

Developer has been alerted. Waiting to hear back.
