Reposted this under a more specific title. Sorry for the previous post!

Soooo, I turn on my laptop today and a program called Antivirus Live pops up and tries to run a scan. Also, I keep getting these security warnings that say "Application cannot be executed. The file _______ is infected. (___ is different almost every time) Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?"

I also just had a window open up with a viagra webpage on it. Windows security center has opened up as well. Can you help me figure out how to clean this up?!?!

I'm going to try to get some logs and post them in this thread. Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide!!

Oh, I also can't open up task manager.

Thanks!

Scott

*edit: I just tried to download and install Hijack This and as soon as the installer window popped up, it disappeared. So, I can't install it. What do I do?!!

Some of the files included in the Security Warning popup that I mentioned in the first post are:

wuauclt.exe (the main one that keeps coming up)

Ok...that's the only one that is popping up right now, but the file name has been different at times.

Ok, when I restarted my computer...I hit ctrl alt del right away and was able to start task manager. I shut down some processes and haven't seen any problems since then. Obviously the problem is still there, I just need to fix it. Any clue where I should start?
