We have a second place in CA that is very small. I do not have the room or wiring capability to set up an wired device. Does anyone know if I can scan documents to my laptop, print from my laptop to the device, fax from my laptop wirelessly (assuming that the printer/fax is hooked to a phone line)?

You should be able to print and scan through a wireless connection to the printer/scanner. If your laptop is plugged into a standard phone line and it is set up to send/receive faxes you will be able to fax as well.
