Hi! I got this virus this morning, no idea how. Anyways, I downloaded the Malwarebytes program. I ran the rkill file and the black window popped up and I thought did it's thing (however now I realize that 2010 windows were still open when I went to run the scan, so maybe it didn't work? Also there was another file that said it couldn't run... can't remember the name something with an e?)

So I ran the Malware Bytes and it did a full scan and seemed to pull the IS2010 virus, a bunch of files with that description were listed after the scan was over. I did Remove Selected with all files checked and the Notepad doc popped up with the scan log. It prompted me to restart. So I did the restart except that the computer can't get past the black screen. It will not start in normal mode. I restarted in safe mode and opened Malware Bytes and saw all the IS2010 stuff in the quarantine so I'm assuming it removed it but I cannot get this system to start except for in safe mode.

Help please!!

Followed directions on another post to make visible hidden files. Updated MBAM again and am scanning again.

Does MBAM work effectively in Safe Mode?

Please help.

MBAM says IS2010 is gone, tried searching for IS2010 files ie winhelper86.dll etc and can't find any.

Still cannot start up/operate in normal mode.

Please help.

Please post the earlier logs from MBAM, especially the log of the scan you ran just prior to the problem you are now having.

Edit: MBAM actually works better when Windows is loaded normally (not in Safe Mode).

Because I did a system restore I can't upload the previous event log from MBAM.

Any ideas?
