Ok first I downloaded autoruns and process explorer a while back because I was having some problems. And yes, I was doing what I知 not supposed to be doing, comparing others HJT logs to mine and tweaking my system accordingly. Everything has been running great except a few of my startup programs show up on your list as UNDESIRABLE. I searched the net, tried turning them off, it works better with them. The system has been running great for a few months. Fast forward to now; The other day I switched anti virus to Microsoft Security Essentials because I don稚 like Avira, I used AVG for years trouble free but got infected a while back that痴 why I went to Avira. Microsoft found something in one of my removable Hard drives so I deleted it accordingly to MSE.
The other day its acting up again and yesterday my screen (primary) started flickering, today its flickering more, I switched primary to my added screen incase the laptop screen should fail. Also, my desktop is changing by it self. In the past week, I have run every scanner I can find and they all say I知 free of infection. I just have this gut feeling I知 not. I guess Im ready to post my HJT log, is this the right place?

DUH: I guess I should say I have an ACER Aspire 5510 I purchased in Thailand in......05 or 06, cant remember exactly when.

I would sya you're likely infected. What was deleted from your external drive may or may not have been an autorun.ini (a common method of propagation for wormlike threats) - does anyone else use that drive?

anyway, if the autorun.ini file was removed the threat may still remain. seek further answers via HJT.

(edited to remove comments that related to something thisnameissoclever originally posted. He edited his post and removed what I was referring to.)

The proper place to post HJT logs is HERE: HijackThis Logs and Virus/Trojan/Spyware/Malware Removal

Please read Preparation Guide For Use Before Using HijackThis and other Malware Removal Tools, Instructions for receiving help in cleaning your computer before posting and follow the instructions if you haven't already done so.

After posting in HJT, go to Tidiness, post the link to this topic and asked that it be closed.

After you post the log:

you should NOT make further changes to your computer
(install/uninstall programs,
use special fix tools, delete files,
edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a
HJT Team member, nor should you continue to
ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in
system changes which may not show it the log
you already posted. Further, any modifications
you make on your own may cause confusion for the
helper assisting you and could complicate the
malware removal process which would extend
the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.
