Hi guys, wish I could be talking to you under better circumstances, but oh well, that's how it goes.

The maleware I have prompts fake "scans" under the guise Internet Security 2010. A warning window always pops up whenever I try to open many programs, .exes and Task Manager in particular. Also, balloons keep popping up in the lower-right corner, and the desktop refuses to change from a big black box saying YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED! Oh, there is also the very occasional hard restart. Very annoying. I wish I could supply you with some more information, but that's what I've observed so far. If you like, I can tell you exactly what the different pop-up windows say, but it's pretty much along the lines of "Your computer is at risk! Updates available now! Click here to download the latest anti-spyware programs!" Here's the report info, and thank you so much for any input you guys can give!!

Hey, m0le, how's it going?

I feel like I owe you an apology. My father went and installed Kasperskey, which I've heard is fairly good as far as anti-virus programs go. I hope it works, but I feel that it was very rude to go and take action without waiting for a more professional opinion.

My father uses his laptop to find work for his small construction business, so after I explained to him that you guys don't get paid, that you take time out of your busy days to help people like us out, and also that problems get taken care of on a first-come first-serve basis, he was understandably worried that his problem wouldn't be addressed soon enough.

Thank you very much for addressing this issue. I hope that the anti-virus program takes care of the problem, but please don't feel obligated to go further with this, since we went and changed everything by installing this program. Thank you again for your time, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Hi GoodwillDictator,

Thanks for the post and the explanation. It's understandable that business computers might need to be fixed much quicker. However, Kaspersky isn't guaranteed to work and as you now have a reply you are able to take the offer of help up.

I will close the topic as per your instruction but PM me if you would like to reopen it and I'll get on it as soon as I get the message.
