Antivirus Live has taken over my PC totally as of this morning. I can't download any of the tools on here to get rid of it...they are on my desktop but won't open. Nothing will open.
I ran AVAST and it said it found a Trojan and put it in the chest but that did nothing to help. I still have Antivirus Live controlling my PC.
I'm afraid to lose my "My Documents" folder and can't even open a file or word document to print it out or burn it to CD.
I'll PAY someone to get rid of this problem!
WHO can help? I'm not technical so who would I call to get this off my PC?
Thanks for any help!

I can't OPEN any of these programs. They download to my desktop but won't open. NONE of the antispyware will open because ANTIVIRUS LIVE is stopping them.

Yes, I am aware of that.

If you read the link to SAS, they have a start SAS option for an existing install of SAS that will not run, hence attempting to address your issue.

That might allow SAS to OPEN and run.

YELLING ON THE FORUM WILL NOT.

What if you can't get online on your PC? How do you download the anti spyware fix then? Is there a way to put the fix on a flashdrive and then onto the PC?

If you cannot use the Internet, you will need access to another computer that has a connection.
From there save RKill and MBam to a flash, usb, jump drive or CD. Now transfer it to the infected machine, then install and run the program.
If you cannot transfer to or install on the infected machine, try running the setup (installation) file directly from the flash drive or CD by double-clicking on example:mbam-setup.exe so it will install on the hard drive.

Manually Downloading Updates:
Manually download them from HERE and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. Alternatively, you can update through MBAM's interface from a clean computer, copy the definitions (rules.ref) located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from that system to a usb stick or CD and then copy it to the infected machine.

RKill....

Please download Rkill by Grinler and save it to your desktop.Link 2
Link 3
Link 4
  • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • If using Vista, right-click on it and Run As Administrator.
  • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.
You will need to run the application again if rebooting the computer occurs along the way.

Next run MBAM (MalwareBytes):

NOTE: Before saving MBAM please rename it to zztoy.exe....now save it to your desktop.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.

alternate download link

MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you. Temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.
  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  • Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  • When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.
MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
  • If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
  • If you encounter any problems while downloading the definition updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
On the Scanner tab:
  • Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
  • Then click on the Scan button.
  • If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
  • The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
  • When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
Back at the main Scanner screen:
  • Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.
  • Exit MBAM when done.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so MBAM can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

I couldn't risk messing up my PC in doing all these self-help things (I'm not too technical) so I bought Spyware Doctor 2010 the same day I got the virus and a Tech walked me through downloading it in safe mode (took over an hour with Tech help on the phone) and then we did the quick scan and Sypware Dr. found it immediately.
I rebooted in normal mode and had control of my PC again, then did a full scan and Spyware Dr. found more of "Antivirus Live" and 13 other things (Trojans, etc.) associated with it and now my PC is rid of it, I hope. Everything works fine.
For $39.00, it was so worth it to get rid of this nasty nightmare! Best $39 I've spent in a long time!!!
Thanks for all your help but I would have paid three times what I did to get rid of this ASAP.

Hey glad to hear it.. You did well. I bet the Malwarebytes application will run now without the RKill.
