I use Spyware doctor (a purchased version which I buy each year for 3 years now). It keeps showing as disabled and will not allow me to enable it or update it. I also run, on occassion, the following scans one at a time when needed:

a squared free
avg free

none of these have found the problem. They may have been compromised as well. I usually can find my way through this stuff, but I have come up against a brick wall this time. I havent a clue what to do next.

My system is Windows XP with AMD Athlon processor. I dont know what other info you would need so please let mek now if there is more to add.

I have the hijackthis log handy when you want it posted.
