Hiya folks, I'm new here and looking for some help. My PC has of late been randomly locking up. I've tried running several programs checking for virus/malware but can't find anything. I've defragged the hard drive, run anti spyware, done a error check on the HD, checked all the drivers, tried updating windows, and checked all the hardware installed in the PC. I'm not sure what's causing it at this point.

Now when I say it locks up, it's a half truth kind of thing. It only happens when Windows is sitting idle, or usually when I'm on the internet/mozilla(I can play games for hours on end and it won't lock up). And it's not a complete lockup either. The system clock freezes, as do any programs that are running. But I can still open up the Start menu and My Computer(and search through My Computer). If I try to close anything down, it closes, but stays stuck on the screen regardless. Ctrl+Alt+Delete gives me the icon for the Windows Task Manager in the bottom right corner(by the frozen clock), but it doesn't actually pop up the screen. I can't log out or shut down windows without holding the power button on the front of the PC for 5 seconds(manual shutdown). I'm not sure what else to try, or where else to go. Thanks for any and all help.
