Hey guys,
So, I've never come across a virus as potent as the one i've come across this time.
Hopefully I can get some help from here though, because I am at my wits end.

I am running XP and service pack 3. I have run SAS and MBAM, and only MBAM detects anything. It finds rootkit.tdss, but everytime it says it removes it, it comes back.

The virus has already shut off my access to the internet (at first the browsers were redirecting to other sites, then there was music and random commericlas playing in the background that seemed to be coming out of no where, and finally the whole "connect to" part in the start menu has disappeared). My volume controls have disappeared. My Windows security center says it has been shut off and will not turn on (including my firewall).

i saw under some of the forums on here suggestions to download some scans, and i downloaded them onto my external hard drive from another computer (the one i am using now), but when i went to connect it to my laptop, it does not even read my external harddrive anymore.

i've been dealing with this for about 2 days now, and i guess you guys are my last hope. lol

hope to hear back soon, i know this is going to be tough

You should start a post in the HijackThis Logs and Virus/Trojan/Spyware/Malware Removal forum. Read the post at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/ before you post.
