i am using vista 64bit. i am running IE8.

the amount of iexplore.exe is usually 3-6. they all take up about 20-40k memory and no CPU. HOWEVER they seem to be slowing down IE8 a lot, everything feels laggy. it seems the more tabs i have opened, the more iexplore.exe pop up.

ive ran malwarebytes, super antispyware and AVG. all found nothing.

i read somewhere that maybe add-ons are causing this problem somehow.

thanks in advance for any help.

My understanding is the IE8 will have a separate process for each tab that you have open.

so i just uninstalled and reinstalled ie8 and java.

The same happens on my computer. If I open IE8 with one tab I get two iexplore.exe processes in the Task Manager. I believe this is normal behaviour for IE8.

hmm ok cool. but it still doesnt explain the recent sluggishness on my comp.

i usually dont care whats running on my system or anything as long as it doesnt effect performance. but i noticed everything was slower than usual, and still is.
