Over the weekend, while surfing I received notice that McAfee had detected a trojan virus and captured it. I didn't think twice about it, but when I tried to open McAfee, I received a message that the file was corrupted. In fact, whatever I tried to open resulted in the same response. I ran a registry repair which identified many items, but did not correct the problem. When I tried to log on to Yahoo (my portal), I found my home page was hijacked with some antivirus page (name Antivirus Live). There is also an icon in my system tray that continues to generate a message that my computer is infected with a virus and that I need to buy this antivirus software. Now I can't log on to the web as this hijack virus prevents me from doing anything.

I have been through this before so I know that this is phony. I previously used Castle Cops which used a variety of freeware to correct the problem and clean the system. I understand they are not around anymore. I am hopeful that someone can be assigned to my case to correct this.
