Recently I have observed that my browsers load very slowly and their responses are very sluggish. Also, noted 2 new processes running on my m/c - csrss.exe and smss.exe

I have - Windows XP Home Edition with MS Sec Essentials + Ad-aware (Free version) + Prevx 3.0 (Free) and Spybot running on my machine.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Hi sesai

Generally these two files are good necessary files but they can also sometimes be infected malicious files. Are the files being flagged by any of the Security products you currently have running on your machine?

You could write into us at Prevx Support for us to have a look at your latest log file for any malicious files.

You can find the support tab in the top right corner of the Prevx Homepage.

Also have you tried deleting your temp files from your browser? This can sometimes cause slow performance.

There are some things you can do to try to make the browsers load faster.

Read This Topic-Slow Computer/browser? Check Here First; It May Not Be Malware and follow the suggestions.

In addition to Ad-Award and Spybot, download, install, update the definitions and run one or both of the following:

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

SuperAntiSpyware

Malware comes in so many forms that multiple, overlapping tools are needed to maximize your protection.

You should also look through ADD REMOVE programs-see if there are programs that you no longer use/need and remove them.
