I've read the instructions on Bleeping Computer and they're great but I already have Malwarebytes but the virus won't let me open it. I can't download Rkill either. This stinks and I really could use some help.

Edit: Moved topic from XP to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

I am pretty sure conficker is not installing personal security. Are you able to browse to any site or just not bleepingcomputer? It could be changing your proxy settings.

No offense but please read his post again, what ever is on his machine will not allow him to open his security stuff. There is a good chance Conficker is on his machine 20 seconds on the Conficker site will tell the tale.

Nah, this is common rogue stuff. They run trojans in the background that kill all processes that may remove it. They are also setting proxy's so you cant download anything and can only visit the rogue site to buy the software and essentially ransom the use of your computer back.
