quick question-monitor black screen no power. Other monitors work on this box. Any known fixes or toss it out?

If the other monitors work with the PC, it's probably time to toss it out.
Although, I would test the troublesome monitor with another PC, one last time.

i also have a monitor issue.

Bad power supply, leaking capacitors, failing inverter board
Unless you have the ability to fix it your self, sending it out to be repaired will cost as much, if not more, than a new one

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
