My computer is being taken by a virus that prevents me from opening/running any executable program which includes all of my anti-virus software like MBAM, ad-aware, and spybot. I have used this forum a few times with great results. I am running windows XP, and am hoping someone can help me get rid of this thing. The warning I get when I try to run a program is:

"SECURITY WARNING
Application cannot be executed. The file mbam.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?"

I clicked on the yes button with my internet unplugged and it takes me to some antivirus website, so I know i'm definitely infected with something. Please help guys, and thank you in advance for anyone who assists me.

*** I'm also getting two startup errors for a "Google Installer" which says it has encountered a problem and needs to close. I don't know if these two things are related but I think they are as I have not had the errors before this virus

Try downloading rkill to your desktop from one of the following links. Double click the file and a black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully. If it does not work, then download the next file and try again.
try this one http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.pif
or this http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.scr
or this http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.exe
or this http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.com

Malwarebytes
Now, download Malwarebytes from http://malwarebytes.org/ update it and run a full scan. Remove any infections found and post the results in your next reply.
